Overview
Impact Engine's Auto Optimization Module enables you to select any number of ads, enter them into the auto optimization queue, then let the system determine the best performer(s) for you. You can set your ads to optimize for either CTR (click through rate) or Time with Ad.
Baseline Numbers
Our experience over thousands of campaign runs and billions of ad impressions has shown us that 24 hours is the minimum time period within which you can accurately gauge of any ad's performance. Using less time than this, you are likely to see big fluctuations between daytime and nighttime viewer activity.

Additionally, each ad should receive a minimum of 1,000 impressions over this time period to achieve statistically significant metrics data.
How long does optimization take?
We utilize a multiple "rounds" methodology to achieve the most accurate results for your optimization. Each round will take 24 hrs, after which only the top 50% of performers will move on to the next round. Subsequent rounds will continue until there is a clear winner.

Therefore, the initial number of ads you select will determine the number of days it will take to achieve optimization. (i.e. 3 ads will take about 2 days. 10 ads will take about 4 days). Here is a sample of what the process looks like if 10 ads are initially selected:
  • Day 1
    1. 10 ads initially selected for optimization
    2. all 10 ads run over a 24 hr period
    3. after 24 hrs, the strongest 50% move on. 6 ads remain*
  • Day 2
    1. 6 remaining ads run over a 24 hr period
    2. after 24 hrs, the strongest 50% move on. 4 ads remain*
  • Day 3
    1. 4 remaining ads run over a 24 hr period
    2. after 24 hrs, the strongest 50% move on. 2 ads remain*
  • Day 4
    1. 2 remaining ads run over a 24 hr period
    2. after 24 hrs, the strongest 50% move on (1 ad remains)
    3. your winner is ready!
*(there must always be an even # of ads in each round. Therefore, the system will round up to the nearest even number after determining the strongest 50% of performers)
